Whether you're an ink enthusiast taking your first step or already an artist seeking to elevate your craft, Handshake Studio's courses have something for everyone. Watch as we share our passion for ink and creativity. 🔥
Introduction:
The "Tattoo Intro Course" at Handshake Studio is designed to introduce participants to the operation of a tattoo machine. It's important to note that this course does not provide participants with the skills required for actual tattooing. Handshake Studio disclaims any responsibility if participants choose to tattoo individuals after completing the course. For those with a strong interest in pursuing a career in tattooing, we encourage considering our "Basic Tattooing Course" at Handshake Studio, followed by the "Master Class." It's essential to understand that these courses are not a replacement for an apprenticeship at a tattoo studio. We recommend participants seek an apprenticeship as their primary avenue for learning tattoo techniques. These courses at Handshake Studio serve as a supplementary educational resource.
Requirements:
No specific requirements to attend the Tattoo Intro Course at Handshake Studio. However, experience in drawing and other creative skills can enhance the participant's understanding and overall benefit from the course.
Purpose:
The purpose of the Tattoo Intro Course at Handshake Studio is as follows:
- To give participants an opportunity to explore the field of tattooing and determine if it aligns with their interests. This is achieved by introducing basic techniques using tattoo machines on synthetic skin and practicing drawing on stencil paper, as well as using a stencil machine.
- To create awareness about the importance of maintaining good working postures.
- To instill an understanding of hygiene best practices, cross-contamination prevention, and the setup/breakdown of a tattoo station.
- To enable participants to set up and break down a station correctly, assemble a tattoo machine with cartridges and membranes, and use stencil accessories.
Learning Objectives:
Knowledge
- To acquire knowledge of hygiene, cross-contamination prevention, and the consequences of inadequate maintenance in these areas.
- To gain knowledge of techniques for minimizing trauma from the needle/machine to the skin and properly adjusting a tattoo machine for a gentler touch.
- To understand how to trace geometric shapes in various directions to develop needle control around a cylinder shaped object.
Skills
- To be proficient in setting up and breaking down a station correctly.
- To effectively assemble a tattoo machine with cartridges and membranes.
- To confidently use stencil paper, a stencil machine, and apply a design to synthetic skin.
Competencies
